Artist's Comments

this is a project for my design lab class. We had to make a business identity and then design abusiness card and a advertisement or postcard of some kind. I made a online grafitti store. Let me know what you all think and what can be fixed about it. All done in Illustrator, and ill update it with the final final version in a bit

for the info on the business card, i would make graf gear the most bold object and group the contact info under it. so it will look like one paragraph. and open up some negative space. another idea for the business card would be to take the background [orange outline] from the post card and screen it down to like 20% in the background of the business card, leaving the orange or maybe going with the traditional gray for the outline. the orange might pull your attention away from the info on the business card though, i'd have to see it. oh and when grouping the text i would put the email under your name and position so the flow of the paragraphs outter edge is smooth and not jagged.

carzy that you live in honolulu, i've been there 2 times. are you near waikiki? i remember kuhio ave. but i can't place it right now, i could always look on map quest, but i wanna know if my memory serves me correctly. is it between waikiki and diamond head? or am i way off?

I'd be a bit more daring with the white side of the card...no offense, but it looks like something I'd see at Kinko's. I would match the grafgear.com on the white part at the very least with the type of font you have on your front portion...and maybe bump the size up a bit.

lol ya the back side is whack, i did that at last minute caz i spent so much time on the flyer. I was thinking of adding some spraycan bubbling of some sort but leaving some white to show some negative space and some contrast. What do u think?

ya im right in the heart of waikiki. i live on kuhio a block or so away from all the clubs and kalakaua street(the main strip). kuhio is before diamondHead but in waikiki, ur memory serves u good.

I'd personally suggest repeating the same pattern you have going on in the front, and do repeat in the back, just use black line and white background.
